avast! antivirus products are licensed "per user" with the exception of avast! 4 Server Edition, which is licensed "per server". For some editions there is a minimum number of licenses similar to Microsoft's licensing agreement (e.g. you can purchase a minimum of 5 avast! 4 SBS Edition licenses, or 10 avast! 4 Exchange Edition licenses).

We offer our customers a maintenance period of 1, 2 or 3 years. During this period the customer will receive all updates of our virus database and upgrades to the avast! program for free, automatically. The price will depend on the number of licenses and the length of the maintenance period i.e. 1, 2 or 3 years.

Volume discount pricing is available for most of our products. The price in the table is the price "per license". To obtain the total price, multiply the price of a single license by the total number of licenses requested.

Note - the price of the licenses falls sharply as the number of licenses increases so it can work out cheaper to buy more licenses than you actually need! For example, if you need to protect 35 SMTP accounts, you can purchase 35 licenses of avast! 4 SMTP Server Edition, which will cost 35 x $13.29 = $463.75. However, 50 licenses would cost 50 x $8.89 = $444.50. So before placing your order, always check whether you could save money by buying more licenses - this will not be calculated automatically!

avast! 4 Home Edition is not licensed to be used free of charge by non-profit organizations however, we do offer a special discount. The discount is 50% off the list price for an educational or non-profit organization and 30% off the list price for a health or government institution. Please apply for any special discounts using this form.
